Adesk Top Level Treemap

Adesk  Top Level Treemap
The top level treemap shows the intersection of technical skills, countries, projects and contractor rates.

The size of the rectangles represents the number of projects completed by contractors working in a country on a specific technology. The color represents the rate the contractor was paid, bright red represents relatively low hourly rate, black represents average hourly rates and bright green represents relatively high hourly rates. A border surrounds all the countries representing the skill displayed in the larger font.

What you'll see across the treemap of the market are classic economic principles within the oDesk market, i.e., low priced contractors, from low wage countries, get more projects than high priced contractors from the US and Western Europe. India, Russia and the Ukraine provide the majority of contractors.
